Essential Oils are really a gift from the earth.  Centuries ago before modern medicine our ancestors looked to nature for purposes of healing.  Before 500 B.C it was believed that plants had both ritual magic powers and medicinal qualities.

Healers would use plants, roots, barks, herbs and other things found in nature.  Frankincense and Myrrh are both refferenced in the bible.  Remedies such as hot lemon water and honey were used for soothing a sore throat, or Eucalyptus to break up chest congestion.

For many moons aromatic plants have played a roll in human civilizations.  They have been used in ceremonies, foods, cosmetics, perfumes and other aspects of human life.  It has evolved over time but the basic principles remain the same.  From the beginning of time, oils extracted from aromatic plants have been recognized as the most effective medicine known to mankind.

Essential Oils are the volatile liquids that are distilled from plants.  They embody regenerating, protective and immune strengthening properties.

Essential Oils have changed our family lives in so many ways.  It's hard to recall what it was like before we used them.  I initially began using them when I started as a massage therapist in my practice.   With the kids I began diffusing or putting on their toes as a way to calm them when they were "wound up" before bed.  I noticed how quickly they would work.

Over time we began using them in many different ways.  Today I use them all the time.  As I learned more and more of the benefits and experienced the results from them, they became hard to live without!

The rates of health issues that have increased over the years has astonished me.  The amount of toxins that we deal with day to day has grown exponentially.   As I gravitated to a more natural way of living I wanted to create an environment for my children that was as safe as possible and provide these natural benefits to them on a regular basis.  The way nature intended.

As we begin to understand the power of Essential Oils in the realm of embracing a more holistic lifestyle, it is important that you are using Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils so that you are actually receiving the benefits.  There are many oils on the market today that are used for their aromatic qualities only and obtain chemical solvents due to the extraction process and thus actually make them toxic.

Many Essential Oils have antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, antiviral, antiparasitic, and antiseptic properties.  Lemon is excellent for supporting the liver in detoxifying.  I use lemons in my water regularly but the majority of the benefits comes from the rind so I love to add a couple drops of Essential Oil as well.  I have also found it to be an effective way to change the methods of how I clean my home without the use of toxic chemical cleaners.

Essential Oils are also wonderful to use in your cuisine.  I love the taste and flavours that herbs offer but there are also health benefits as well.  Using oils is great alternative, it is also quite cost effective because the oils are so concentrated and the taste is amazing!

Emotional health and wellbeing is important, the use of oils in our family has enhanced our day to day life so positively. There is nothing like having a "go to" when your mood is off or your looking for a way to ground, relax, or enhance your ability to focus.

I am absolutely passionate about Essential Oils because I have experienced their "magic" and love to share things with others if it may help them or enhance their life and journey to living a more natural lifestyle.  As moms we have the power to teach our kids and raise them in a healthy environment.
